Welcome
We would like to say a big welcome to all of our new children and parents and welcome back to all of our existing children and parents. Everyone has settled really well and are all making friends.
If you have any questions about your child or about the preschool then please could we ask you to either talk to us at the gate, email us on pavilionpirates@live.co.uk or phone us on 07769 177701. Please can we ask that you do not send this type of communication via your child’s Tapestry account.
You are also more than welcome to come into preschool for a stay and play session with your child. Family members are also welcome to come in.
Snack & Lunch Guidelines
We have been given new guidance from Gov.UK following several choking incidents in nurseries. We have put various things in place ready for our snack/lunchtimes and would be grateful if you could keep to the following guidelines to help.

- Please remember that we are a NUT FREE preschool so please check all items. Peanut butter in sandwiches is a definite NO.
- Grapes, small tomatoes, mini sausages and any other small round food items must be cut horizontally and preferably quartered, not halved.
- Sandwiches should be cut into finger sandwiches or not larger than small squares which are manageable for small hands and mouths.
- No Popcorn, packets of sweets or bars of chocolate please.
- No Fruit Stars, Yoyos, Fruit Winders, Peelers or similar items please.
- Please provide a healthy snack of either fruit or chopped up vegetables, crackers/cheese. We will not accept crisps/biscuits or chocolate.
Reminders & Announcements
- PLEASE NAME EVERYTHING – especially lunch boxes, snack pots and water bottles. It is particularly important to save spreading germs around this time of year. Thank you to those of you who have already done so as it is much appreciated. Please see details below regarding My Nametags.
- Please may we remind you that children are not to have squash/juice in their water bottles. Juice can be provided for lunchtime drink.
- As the weather is turning, please ensure your child brings in a named coat each day. No crocs or flip flop type footwear are allowed.
- Please can you pack a spare set of clothing in a named bag in your child’s rucksack each day in case of accidents.
- Just a reminder not to send your child into preschool if they have a continuous cough, heavy cold or temperature.
- Please can you ring or email us to notify us of any child absence – email is pavilionpirates@live.co.uk and mobile is 07769177701.
- Please can we also ask that children are not lifted over the garden gate if locked at the end of the day and please do not put them over on dropping off when no staff member is present.
- Please provide nappies/wipes/nappy bags if you are toilet training.
- Any prescribed medication must be labelled with the child’s name and kept in the box provided by the pharmacy.
- No telephones must be used whilst parents are in the setting.

The children have been busy drawing their designs once again for our fundraiser this year. Samples will be available soon and we will let you all know the deadline for online orders as we receive 30% commission on all orders received by the deadline date.
BIKEATHON
MONDAY 12TH OCTOBER – FRIDAY 16TH OCTOBER
Children can bring in their own bikes and scooters for the whole week and take part in our sponsored event going around our special track. If any parents work for companies who do ‘Charity Match’ and are able to help with this event then please can you let us know.
CHRISTMAS FAYRE

Don’t forget to sign up to support us through Easyfundraising – you should have found the details of how to sign up in your welcome packs. We need to get as many people as possible to sign up to help us with the easiest way to raise funds for free for our preschool.
If you have a FB account then please follow our FB pages for the preschool and our Little Buccaneers group. We put photos of activities that your children have been taking part in during each week and for any events.
